My whole family is convinced that spaghetti ice (a delightful German dessert) is possibly the greatest invention since sliced bread.
“Spaghetti” fashioned out of delicious vanilla ice cream, topped with strawberry “sauce”, this treat is sought after and fully enjoyed every time we visit Europe.
In fact, it is such a tradition, that upon discovering it somewhere new, . . . → Read More: A family affair…with spaghetti ice!

Entering Vatican City
Visiting the Vatican completed, nay, it made my trip to Rome. My advice for visitors? Pay whatever the admission cost is, for any of the attractions, and live to tell the story of the most beautiful art you have ever seen. Make sure to spend at least thirty minutes walking . . . → Read More: The Vatican – a holy experience!

The beach (near Ostia) outside of Rome – note the surfers in the distance!
Backpacking through eight countries in thirty days can be a little intense. Being the smart backpacker I am, I decided to unload my stress with a day at a beach outside of Rome. It was warm and sunny, the water was cold and . . . → Read More: The day Italy burned me.

Street musicians are all over Europe – guaranteed you will see at least one in every city. Unfortunately these musicians often use little kids to get the sympathy vote with tourists. Check out this video to see what I mean:
Personally, I do not give money to street musicians who appear to be underage or who are . . . → Read More: Street musicians in Europe, the soundtrack.

A short video (note: I should never be a videographer) showing a bit of the view from the top of the St. Peter’s Church tower in Munich, Germany. This tower can be climbed for the small fee of 1 Euro and is in the heart of the Munich altstadt.
Enjoy!

In a previous post, I mentioned that I really love stopping by at Burg Liebenstein for the good food and the even better view. On my last trip there, I took some friends with me who found the local goats to be super-cool. In fact, as detailed in this video, they felt the need to try . . . → Read More: Talking to goats – and no, this is not because we drank too much German beer!

For those of you who have always wondered what all of the fuss if about, check out a video I took of the changing of the guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London, England. Walking by, we happened to notice the huge crowd (how can you miss it?) and stopped to take a look!

The year 2005 was good for many reasons – I graduated high school, I went on an awesome trip to Europe, and I started university. One of the not-so-great memories concerned bananas. More specifically, it concerned a Gwen Stefani song where the main line is: “this S**t is Bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S!”
Why would a song like this ever . . . → Read More: How Gwen Stefani singlehandedly changed my European experience.

Driving on the autobahn is a little scary, let’s be honest. I would know because I drove on it!
In the summer of 2006 a few friends and I decided to do a two-week tour of Germany. After doing the math, it was cheaper for us to rent a car (even with gas costs) than it would . . . → Read More: How to drive on the autobahn in Germany…and survive!
