Sorry for the lack in blog posts – to the people in the blogosphere who may or may not be reading this! Life got in the way, but I’m back…and in one piece
Yes, I know, I haven’t blogged about L.A – that will come soon! Instead, I’ve decided to write a little bit about travel.
Travel is one of the things that seems to scare the living crap out of people. Why? It’s scary and expensive and involves some degree of letting go of control. It’s unattainable and unreachable and thoroughly unimaginable. When someone starts talking about how much they enjoyed bareback donkey rides in the mountains of Nepal – don’t lie – you zone out! You zone out because you can’t relate and although the pictures are fun to look at, why bother with something that you will never have the chance to experience?
Well, here’s the funny part – you can experience it! And without the help of an expensive travel agent! All of those frequent flier miles you racked up visiting Aunt Mildred in Ohio can go towards that spring vacation in Paris. Who cares if the weather is shit? It’s Paris! The Eiffel Tower still looks just as romantic, and the cafes are just as alluring, even in steady drizzle!
I have talked to so many people who say: “Wow, you are SO lucky that you travel!”
Well, make it happen for yourself! Who says you need to go on a plane to be a tourist? You don’t! Be a tourist in your own town.
So many people have told me that I can’t travel alone, or that I shouldn’t travel now. Well, why not? Is travel ever truly convenient? There always reasons not to go – I can list many. But I have plenty reasons to go as well, and those are good enough for me

You're part of the reason why I'm even considering this huge trip! It's all because of you!
Travel. Everywhere. Every chance you get. Do it alone. Do it with friends. Do it when you know you can't afford it. You'll be a better person for it. But… you already know that.
