As I mentioned before…and I will reiterate again, I loved eating in Los Angeles.
Unfortunately (shame on me!), I did not record the name of my favorite West Coast Restaurant. It was located in Venice Beach and tried to only serve local, sustainable, and organic foods (which I absolutely LOVE!). Despite the highly specific food ingredients, the meals were relatively cheap ($12 for more than enough lunch!) and very inventive.
Thankfully, I was smart enough to take lots of pictures to document the deliciousness:

My absolutely, 100% amazing lunch. From what I remember: couscous and chickpeas mixed with spicy yogurt.
Later that day, Travis, my host, was kind enough to cook up a storm in my honor. Laid over a bed of chopped fennel and beansprouts, the appetizer consisted of scallops speared with a vanilla bean and seared until crunchy and was drizzled with sweet pickled onion sauce. Dinner was even more elaborate, a tender chicken dish with seasoned vegetables and mashed sweet potatoes. My taste buds died and went to heaven.
